Connecting Cottbus seeks a Programme Director (Freelance)

Connecting Cottbus, the East – West co-production market held within the framework of Filmfestival Cottbus, takes place for the 12th time in 2010 and enjoys high national and international prestige. The aim of Connecting Cottbus is to initiate co-productions and collaboration between Eastern and Western Europe. At the center of this event is a presentation of 13–14 feature film projects from different European countries. Apart from the presentation and discussion of the projects, the focus of Connecting Cottbus lies in maintaining a creative industry network, mainly of producers, financiers, distributors and to offer a forum to discuss the latest development concerning production and financing in Europe.

Job profile:

  • Programme direction and development of Connecting Cottbus
  • National and international public representation of Connecting Cottbus
  • Programme organisation, research in different countries for current topics, projects and participants
  • Acquisition of projects and project management
  • Organisation and Preparation of participants for the pitching
  • Close cooperation and communication with the Festival Cottbus and the executive administration of Connecting Cottbus
  • Networking with filmmakers, funding institutions, partner organisations and industry representatives
  • Attending to key film markets

Requirements:

  • Experience in event management, organisation
  • Profound knowledge of the film and media industry in Europe
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and knowledge of German
