The pitching session was again at the centre of Connecting Cottbus. A new record was reached this year: 51 projects from 23 countries applied for a place. The projects were presented to the professional audience from 22 countries on November 8, 2007.
Apart from the chance for spontaneous feedback during the pitching session and making the first contacts afterwards, this year was the first time that Connecting Cottbus offers participants an opportunity to have more detailed individual conversations on November 9th. In connection with this year's focus at the FilmFestival Cottbus, there was also a chance at Connecting Cottbus to learn about the current situation of the film and television industry in

As a complement to Connecting Cottbus, the FilmFestival Cottbus offered the possibility to see the most interesting and important films from these countries on the big screen.
pitch awards 2007
Connecting Cottbus has a prize for the first time: the CoCo Best Pitch Award, donated by EastWest Filmdistribution. All 13 projects, which were presented on November 8, 2007, were automatically in the running. The jury was the attending professional audience. It chosen the best pitch after the presentations: the project The Box (Yetifilm, Serbia) won a voucher for script doctoring to the value of Euros 3,000.
For the first time, Connecting Cottbus presented the CoCo Special Pitch Award which is to become a regular feature of our co-production market: Oleg Novkovic, the winner of the previous year's main prize at the FilmFestival Cottbus had the opportunity to introduce his new project White White World to the professional audience as part of the pitching session. more

The meeting of the jury to select projects for the pitching session within the scope of Connecting Cottbus took place in Potsdam on September 5, 2007. Members of the jury included: Connecting Cottbus, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk/MDR, Nipkow Programme, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg/RBB, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung/MDM and German Films.
