looking back ... 2003

accomplished: the first years

For the fifth time, producers, distributors, financiers and commissioning editors are invited to Cottbus for an exciting  exchange of experiences. In 2003, new MEDIA member countries and Russia are - appropriately - the thematic focus of the panels and pitching sessions. Once again, the film and TV producers' projects and the keynote speeches present interesting and unexpected insights into the radical changes taking place in Russia‘s film and television industry.

The search is on for realisable story ideas that are suitable for a European market. The jury selecting the projects is composed of representatives from all of the partners: the Filmboard Berlin Brandenburg, the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, the Nipkow Programme Berlin, the  MEDIA Antenna Berlin-Brandenburg and Connecting Cottbus.

In  2003, the film industry forum and the FilmFestival Cottbus grow even closer together: directors and producers are represented at the Festival with their films and present their latest projects at the same time in the forum - participants from Connecting Cottbus are also festival jury members.  The idea of Connecting Cottbus continues to evolve: providing a platform for new, potential projects and also offering comprehensive information about production possibilities and the film landscape in Europe.
